Parish News and Notes 8/29/21
Greetings from St. Charles! Attached is our bulletin for this
Sunday, August 29th
Twenty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time
. We celebrate with the Ajaero family this weekend as their son, Uchenna Eugene Joseph, is baptized on Saturday. We also remember our Haitian brothers and sisters this weekend with a special collection for
Haiti Emergency Relief
. Thank you for your support as they continue their recovery from recent tragic events. And we join with Archbishop Lori in offering prayers for peace after the Kabul Airport attack earlier this week:

Calling singers one and all! I am honored to be the director of your Traditional Choir. It has been so long since we have sung. It's time to come together again. The only requirement is a desire to serve the Lord in song. We will begin choir rehearsals Saturday, September 18th at 3:00pm and sing for the 4:00pm Mass. Please feel free to send me an email or reach out by phone or text.
Registration continues for our
K-8 Children's Religious Education
program which will begin on
Sunday, September 19th
in the Rectory. Registration forms are available in the church vestibule, at the parish office, or on the parish website here:

Wednesday, September 1st
we celebrate the
World Day of Prayer for the Care of Creation
and begin the annual
Season of Creation
which runs through October 4th. See the bulletin for links to the Archdiocese of Washington's comprehensive Laudato Si Action Plan. “This Action Plan contains small and big ways for us to exercise stewardship over God’s creation. (We) invite each of you to study this Action Plan and be challenged to protect and restore our fragile Earth and our natural resources.” Or view the USCCB's handout below for ideas to help families and communities renew their commitment to care for our common home...
