Weekly Bulletin 7/4/21
Happy 4th of July weekend! Attached is our bulletin for this Sunday, July 4th, the
Fourteenth Sunday in Ordinary Time
. We welcome Fr. Canisius back from his vacation in Cameroon--it's good to have him home! This weekend, our ushers will resume the taking up of the collections during the offertory, and the gifts of bread and wine will be brought forward by members of the congregation. Communion will be distributed from the foot of the altar only, in the pre-COVID manner. We hope you will be able to join us as we gather to give thanks for the gift of our many freedoms.
We learned this morning of the death of parishioner
Geraldine "Geri" Wise
. Geri resided at Augsburg Village, and worked tirelessly to connect the Catholic residents, in all areas of the Augsburg community, with one another and with our faith community here at St. Charles. She was instrumental in establishing the weekly Communion Services and monthly Mass which we celebrate there. We will miss her evangelizing spirit and unselfish heart. There will be a viewing in the church beginning at 10am on
Wednesday, July 7th
, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at
. Interment immediately following at Gardens of Faith Cemetery in Rosedale.
May her soul and the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
ALTAR SERVERS NEEDED
Would you like to be of assistance
at Holy Mass as an Altar Server?
As the Covid restrictions are winding down and things at St. Charles are beginning to return to "normal" we will again be returning to regularly scheduling altar servers for our weekend Masses. Males and females, 8 years to adults, are being recruited to volunteer as altar servers. Those who were assisting us as servers pre-Covid, and those who would like to assist at St. Charles for the first time, should keep alert for announcements of training that will be offered in the coming weeks. Let Deacon Steve Roscher (
) know if you are interested in joining this important ministry.
